What is a webinar?

A combination of the words ‘web’ and ‘seminar’. Webinars are workshops or presentations conducted over the internet. Think of it as an online class with a trainer and other students.

For initial accreditation participants will attend 3 separate webinars; for reaccreditation participants will attend 2 separate webinars.

Each webinar covers 1 module and lasts approximately 2 hours (including breaks). Participants need the following equipment:

  • Headphones or earphones
  • Computer or laptop with microphone and audio
  • High speed internet access

Participants can dial in over the telephone if they haven’t got access to headphones.  For best results, participants should ensure they are seated in an office or area free from noise and distractions.

Find a webinar that suits your schedule here. Webinars can be attended in any sequence as long as participants enrol in either 3 (for initial accreditation) or 2 (for reaccreditation).

Safe Storage & Handling of Agvet Chemicals – Online Reaccreditation

When chemicals are not stored or handled correctly, the risk of spills, environmental contamination, fires and detrimental health effects to employees and customers is increased. Under Australian regulations both employers and employees are responsible for the safe storage and handling of chemicals in the workplace. Understanding the requirements under relevant legislation is therefore extremely important to anyone working in an environment where chemicals are stored.

This new course takes students through key aspects that they need to know and will provide a good reminder about the measures that need to be put in place to maintain a safe workplace

Safe Transport of Agvet Chemicals – Online Reaccreditation

People involved in all stages of the transport of agricultural and veterinary chemicals must be aware of the associated hazards. If handled incorrectly, dangerous goods can endanger people, property and the environment. To prevent this happening, laws have been developed for their safe handling, storage and transport. These hazards are most likely to be encountered with chemicals which are flammable, react with moisture, oxidizing agents, toxic, corrosive, or those that present hazards to the environment.

Under Australian regulations there are rules, procedures and guidelines which must be observed by everyone involved in the transport of these goods.

Many agricultural and veterinary chemicals are classified as dangerous goods and are consequently specifically targeted by recommendations and regulations relating to dangerous goods transport.

This course provides learners with information to enable their understanding of specific responsibilities when transporting agvet chemicals.

  1. Regulations, standards & codes relating to the transport of agvet chemicals
  2. Licensing
  3. Documentation required when transporting agvet chemicals
    • Other vehicle requirements
  4. Duties of personnel
    • Vehicle owner
    • Consignor
    • Driver
    • Loader/unloader
