Back in October 1987, the Board of AVCA (now known as CropLife Australia) made a commitment to ensure the safe supply and use of its products, through an industry accreditation and training program.
CropLife Australia is the industry body representing the majority of companies that are responsible for developing, researching, manufacturing, servicing, marketing and distributing products and technologies used to protect Australia’s agricultural industries.
As a result, Agsafe was created in August 1993 to manage the program.
Agsafe provides nationally recognised training to ensure that all individuals who sell or offer advice on agvet chemicals follow the principles of safe, effective and legal use.
Agsafe assessors provide members with expert advice to ensure that these chemicals are stored, handled and transported safely.
Agsafe’s aim is to ensure that everyone involved in agvet chemical handling and supply, and the premises in which they work, are Agsafe accredited.
