February 2012 has proven to be a month to savour for Landmark Kingston, with a national safety award helping staff to welcome in the New Year.
Since making the decision to move from the shopping precinct to an industrial area, the store has gone from strength to strength, with all of the hard work culminating in being awarded the prestigious Agsafe Achievers award. Agsafe Accreditation Facilitator Peter Tsouris has made regular visits to the premises and he has assisted in making Kingston one of the region’s safest and most well-run outlets.
“The old store was located right in the middle of the shopping precinct and the location wasn’t really suited to their operation,” he said.
“We recommended a re-location and a new purpose-built facility was constructed in an industrial area. The new site has allowed Landmark Kingston to receive, store and display their merchandise so as to reduce the need for double handling, and perform operations in a far safer manner.
“Agsafe congratulates this terrific store on winning the Agsafe Achievers award and ‘walking the walk,’ in terms of safe and efficient agvet chemical supply.”
Merchandise Manager Craig Brammer has every reason to smile after making the momentous decision to move locations just over 12 months ago.
“We re-located back in October 2010 and it has been very good for us,” he said.
“We have so much more room to operate now, which has assisted in meeting our safety objectives for staff and customers. Our clients and suppliers have remarked on the improvements we’ve made and the ease of doing business.
“Winning this award is great for Landmark Kingston and the staff here; knowing that we are doing the right thing by our people and the industry as a whole.”
The Agsafe Accreditation and Training program is an industry initiative that assists agvet chemical businesses to comply with government regulations and industry standards.
