Dalby Rural Supplies has scooped up a national safety award.
What was once a butter factory has been transformed into one of the most successful chemical resellers in the region, and has now been crowned winner of the March Agsafe Achievers award. Manager John Cullen and his team of agricultural professionals have put in a massive amount of work to get the store operating so well, while at the same time building up a reputation as a safety-orientated and efficient outlet.
“We are delighted to earn this recognition from Agsafe. Dalby Rural Supplies has been in business for 18 years now and throughout that time we have tried to maintain a top level of Agsafe standards,” Mr. Cullen said.
“When we designed the store we wanted a purpose-built premises that catered to our clients’ and staffing needs in a functional, safe environment. Both our retail drive-thru store and our bulk shed have been fully bunded with sumps, chemical showers, ventilation and all key chemical areas have spill kits in close proximity.”
Queensland’s Agsafe Accreditation Facilitator Allan Porter played a key role in the construction of the rejuvenated store and he spoke highly of the sweeping changes made to earn the lucrative ‘AA’ award.
“John and his team at Dalby are good operators, what they have done out there is quite impressive,” he said.
“Not only have they transformed an old butter factory, they have had the foresight to merge two stores into one. I looked at the original construction plans and suggested some changes and now they are going very well indeed!”
The Agsafe Accreditation and Training program is an industry initiative that assists agvet chemical businesses to comply with government regulations and industry standards.
